Mission Statement City Volleyball Club was created to bring the top players in the city of Mesa together so that they can play on one team. We feel the city of Mesa has some of the states best players, and if they play together, they can compete for a club championship. Our focus is to teach fundamentals so that our players grow, but we also want a competitive atmosphere so that the players push themselves to be the best. As time passes we hope to add all the top players from every high school in Mesa so that we truly represent the city. We feel very fortunate to have a great staff of coaches who work hard at training the players, and we know their commitment to the club will help make this a successful club experience for all involved this season.
Girls Club Information Many people have been asking what CVC plans on offering for club volleyball this year, so here’s a quick checklist of ideas that CVC will offer for the 2014-2015 club season.
We will offer teams based on the age groups that walk through our doors for open gyms. We are planning on two 13’s teams, a 16’s’/17’s team, and an 18’s team.
Our 18’s and 17’s team will play in the open division and travel to national tournaments, and we will evaluate the level that best suits the younger girls.
We will practice out of Poston Jr. High, Stapley Jr. High, and Mountain View High School. (Still waiting on confirmation from Stapley)
Our fees will be the some of the lowest in the state, we only want to ensure that we pay our coaches what other clubs are paying theirs during the season.
Our tentative practice dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-10. These times are for all four teams to be able to practice. Plus we will add an additional training day two Saturdays a month, to allow our athletes some specialty work. We will NOT train your daughters to play one position, they need to be able to pass, set, serve, and hit for their eventual seasons. Saturday trainings are to work those previously mentioned fundamental skills.
Our coaches are all trained by GMS clinics, which is the volleyball program used by both BYU programs, Washington, ASU, UCLA, and other major universities around the nation
We will have fun through hard work and dedication to the game we all love. Your daughter’s improvement is one of our main priorities, but we never want to lose sight of this game being fun.
If you have any other additional questions about our program please attend the 1st open gym of the season on November 1st at Mountain View High School from 1:30-4:00. We will be happy to talk you about any concerns at this time.
